SKC: 20 Years in Silence

Furry, guitarist, and weekend traceur

About Me

My name is Clint Walker. I am a heavy metal musician/guitarist, traceur, and furry. My screen name/nickname/stage name comes from my furry character (or fursona) Striker King Cheetah. My passion is heavy metal, pouring my heart out though my guitar. All the frustration that has built up over the years, all this angst and sadness is discharged little by little every time I play. I get a rush when ever I shred.

My beliefs

I'm not religious. Ever. I was brought up Christian, but after looking at the big picture, how the world is religiously, it occurred to me that religion is just a way to divide people. I don't really believe there is a "God". Rather, I believe we as a people are God.

Let me elaborate a little bit. Take the laws of attraction, for instance (i.e. The Secrete). Positive thinking brings about a positive result over time. When many people believe in good things happening, miracles happen. Prayer is basically positive thinking in a way. A means of sending off positive energy. Read The Secrete, you'll know what I mean.

My beliefs are mixed. Believe too much attachment to the material (wealth for example) can be bad. I believe in reincarnation, both on earth and in other worlds far away. I defiantly believe in the existence of spirits (I see them sometimes). I believe that if it feels good, it's okay as long as it doesn't cause harm. I believe in freedom of choice. I don't really believe in the death penalty, because it doesn't really give the criminal a chance to reflect before going on to the next life like a life sentence. I believe we must help each other when we can. Energy surrounds every living thing.

I believe that society is too obsessed with being politically correct. The smallest thing could create the greatest rage. Society is much too judgmental, much to critical, and much too controlling. People just need to loosen the hell up and learn to take the blows. Learn to not pound some one to dust just for brushing up against them on the subway. It might seem exaggerated, but that is how it is.

My Life Story

I was born in the small town of Centerville, Iowa, just Southeast of Rathbun Lake. I spent a great deal of my time growing up there sort of idling. Not really knowing what I was going to do, nor knowing where to go with my life. I've always went by my motto, "If you're not my friend, then you're my enemy". I had a few enemies. Looking back, it was sort of ridiculous how I was set off. They used that to drive me insane. I was sort of a loaner on through Jr. High. I had many friends, sure, but I never really hung out with anyone. Never talked much, nothing really to talk about.

I had been misdiagnosed with ADD, then later ADHD, so I had been on a bunch of different meds for something that was close, but not really my condition. It was later found that I had Pervasive Developmental Disorder Not Otherwise Specified. I think some of those meds messed me up a little bit, causing various social difficulties through the years.

Through high school, I had dabbled with story writing. There is this one story that till this day I'm re-writing for the third time. I use to listen to Country music, which I got tired of after a while. Then I started to listen to rap, which didn't last long. Classic rock had always been a favorite, though. "Sweet Child O' Mine" had always brought back memories of pleasant peaces of my childhood. After seeing a guy by the name of Nick Michels (I hope I spelled that right, probably not) shred at a high school talent show, I had started listening to heavier stuff. That's about the time I wanted to start my own band. After I left CHS in 2006 to go to the alternative Appanoose County High School, I had an interest in learning guitar. I started to learn in November of that year from Wade Oaker, at first on acoustic, then later I got my first electric (Ted Nugent walked in on us one time. I swear it was him). An Ibanez GRX22 in a black night finish. It was a nice guitar, one of the best Christmas gifts ever.

After getting the basics down, I moved on to learn the rest on my own.

To be continued...
